Life is good, but.......

Life is good here at The Chasmacian Crafter, but it has been extremely busy.  I have been busy designing and making the prototypes for my new designs.  It is nice to have an idea and draw it out, then make the pattern and construct the piece.  The best part is everything works out and not too much needs changed.  I like to display my designs in my living room and look at them.  I combined my different pieces to see how they work together.  Usually I am satisfied with my results, but there are times when I may change a color or make it a different size.  I like all my designs to work together whether you are creating a primitive or country look.

The winner is.......

I would like to take this time to let everyone know the drawing for the $40.00 giveaway was won by Mrs. Amanda H or Defiance Ohio.
Thank you to all who registered and shopped at my website.

Something New for Our Country Primitive Collectors......

There is something to be said about the country primitive decor.  The design has such a warm and cozy feel, bringing you back to a time when life was hard but living was easy.  The Chasmacian Crafter tries to bring something different for home and office decorating.

Shadow Box
This shadow box is actually one of my first designs and is sold on my website.  I did take it to a new level and decided to grunge it for my country and primitive friends.  What makes this so special is you can change the picture to go with your mood or holiday.  I offer on my website a Victorian "Postcard Gallery".  There you can go to numerous holidays and choose a design you find appealing and we will mat it to accommadate your special design.

Country Primitive Glass Display Case
This display case is truly a country primitive object for your home decorating needs. It has five sides of glass with a hinged lid so you can display your most precious antiques or even our prim eggs sold on our website. Tuck it on a shelf or display it proudly on your table. It is sold on my website, but I only have one  available now.  So, when it is gone, not sure when I will have anymore available.
This country primitive coach lantern is simply sweet and primitive.  You can add a special candle ring around the light bulb for different holidays or just leave it the way it is.  The coach light comes with a perfect primitive orange bulb.  If you are interested, just stop by my website and take a look.   I have added new country primitive decor on my website made especially for you.

Handcrafted Silicone Light Bulbs by The Chasmacian Crafter

I am so glad to have started my website and also my new blog.  This little blog gives you all a chance to peek into the world of The Chasmacian Crafter and gives me a place to showcase my original designs.  I have been crafting since I was a little boy.  I loved the feeling I got from creating something from practically nothing.  The real reward was the admiration that I received from others.  I would like to introduce you into one of my new ventures, "Handcrafted Silicone Light Bulbs".

This handcrafted light bulb is an original design by me and is protected by a copyright as all my "Chasmacian Rose Light Bulbs" are.  I offer these for sale on my website  and I have free shipping on all my products.  You can purchase the rose light bulbs for $5.95.     This color is Country Orange with tiny brown flecks to give it that country charm.  This light bulb is perfect for any country or primitive vignette and is scented with pumpkin pie.  The light bulb is a candlelabra base with a 4 watt night light bulb.  All our bulb comes scented, but can be handcrafted with no scent if you prefer.  These are one of my best sellers.
This is another of The Chasmacian Rose light bulbs to warm you heart and your home .  It also has the country flecks and comes scent with the fragrance of  warm apple crisp.  This bulb is perfect for a country corner or a primitive vignette.  Selling for $5.95

Looking for somethng for Spring........?  I offer this gorgeous Country Violet Rose to brighten your darkest nights.  No two roses are the same since they are all handcrafted and are NOT made from a mold.  Like always, this rose is priced at $5.95 with free shipping.  It is a candlelabra base 4 watt light bulb. and has a cool scent of basil and citrus.
My light green Chasmacian Rose is another fine addition to our original designs for lighting up your world.  All my Roses will fit into any candlelabra style light socket and also will work in a night light which I offer for sale on my website.

This Chasmacian Rose is marbled with red and white coloring.  This is harder to accomplish and no two of the roses will be the same.  This process takes an experience crafter to create this design.  This Rose can be designed in almost any color combination.  It is also a candlebra base and 4 watt light bulb.  This particular design is sold on our website for $6.95 and has free shipping.

I  have numerous new designs coming out for Fall and Christmas which are truly something special for your home or office.  The Chasmacian Crafter is always trying to design original crafts to warm your heart and your home.  It is my pleasure to be able to design home decor for my friends.  If you are looking for other handcrafted silicone light bulbs, stop by my website.  Also, look for my other original designs  that I am sure you will be pleased with.

It is a busy time for The Chasmacian Crafter...........

I would like to apologize for not posting lately.  I have been so busy designing new and exciting decor for this Fall and Christmas.  It takes a lot of time to design and also to find the raw materials to make the new designs, but it will be worth it.  I am excited and looking forward to presenting my new designs, but not now.  You must wait, but good things are worth waiting for.

I will be making another post in the next few days.......

My Early Years............

Well, my name is Chuck and I am The Chasmacian Crafter.....It is pronounced  Chas-Mack-E-N and is in a combination of my first name and my last name.  I have been making things all my life, from popsicle sticks when I was a child to macrame` and all the stuff in between.  I am from Iowa and love living here, except when it snows.

For 18 years I designed Christmas Trees, Wreaths, Stockings and Centerpieces for The Festival of Trees in Davenport Iowa and for The Fantasy of Lights in Clinton, Iowa.  The Davenport show is one of the top 10 in the nation and it was an honor to receive a ribbon from there. You were judged by your peers and for these designers to choose me was an honor. These shows were fund raisers and were all about volunteers and the Davenport show would raise  money for the arts.  I received over 35 ribbons ranging from best of show to honorable mention.  Christmas is my passion followed by Halloween.

In the early 90's I decided I would try my hand at selling my crafts and creations in magazines such as Country Sampler, Country Folk Art, Better Homes and Gardens and other magazines.  It was tough working a full time job and doing the craft business, but soon I would end up getting a divorce so I just put everything on hold.

I survived the divorce and 8 years later, I retired early from my job of 31 years as a  machinist and decided it was time to take this business venture all the way. So, here I am and I hope to  design and manufacture original primitive, country and everyday decor for your home and office.  After all The Chasmacian Crafter wants to "Make Holidays Special in your Heart and in your Home."

It all began again with the gourds when I came to a family own pumpkin patch in Donnellsen Iowa.  They sold these dried up gourds which I purchased.  I cleaned them, painted them and carved them into jack o`lanterns with an electrical light and sold them.  I actually saw gourds in the mall and they were selling for a lot of money.  I knew I could do them with a little patience and practice.  So, I set out in my gourd business and called myself a "Gourdster".  I would tell my customers the gourds were grown in a "gourdchard."  Most of them knew better, but it made for good conversation. They became very popular and I was getting sick and tired of cleaning them, but I enjoyed what I did and so did everyone else.  The Chasmacian Crafter was feeling good about this and so the beginning of the new Chasmacian Crafter.
